Most Home Contents insurance policies automatically cover your third party liability for injury or damage caused when using cycles anywhere in the world typically to a limit of indemnity of £1m or £2 million.  

Look under Personal Liability or check with your advisor if in doubt.

If you buy the optional Personal Possessions extension with Home Contents cover it commonly covers any cycle in the family but usually with a limit per cycle, typically around £500.  You may therefore need to specify more expensive cycles. Again check with your advisor. Without that extension your cover for cycles will under most standard policies be limited to the confines of your home.

Home Contents insurance usually all covers exclude theft of cycles away from your home unless securely locked when unattended.  We recommend locking to an immovable object even if your insurance does not specify this.
