DCN promotes cycling as environmentally-friendly transport because it improves health, reduces air pollution and helps to relieve road congestion.

We are not anti-car; many of us are car users who try to use a bike instead whenever possible in order to reduce our carbon footprint.

We work with local authorities trying to get improved conditions for cyclists, both for their safety and to attract more people to using bikes as transport.

We particularly try to represent people who cycle to work, school, the shops and other journeys as well as cycling for leisure

We have over 1,300 members including two group memberships.
