We promote cycling as environmentally-friendly transport because it improves health and reduces congestion and pollution.
We are not anti-car; lots of us are car users but we try to use a bike instead whever possible.
We work with local authorities trying to get improved conditions for all kinds of cyclists
We particularly try to represent people who cycle to work, school, the shops and other essential short journeys.
We have over 1,000 members including those in two large group memberships
We operate through local autonomous branches in Bournemouth, Poole, Christchurch and Dorset towns and are
  • a non profit-making organisation managed by a committee of volunteers elected annually
  • financed through members' subscriptions, advertising and occasional small grants
  • a member of the Cycle Campaign Network (the federation of local cycle campaigns)
  • affiliated to CTC, Sustrans and Dorset Local Agenda 21
  • a member of various local partnerships
  • an agency for the Environmental Transport Association.
